Elegoo's version of the Arduino MEGA2560 R3 is so cheap you might be tempted to never buy an Uno type board again, at least for prototyping purposes. Also, unlike most "copies" (not really, it's open source hardware after all), Elegoo has actually provided some quality control and innovation in this area. The components are well soldered, the board is a nice black color, it has a real crystal oscillator and a 16U2 USB serial interface, there is a CE logo on the box and best of all, the pin headers are labeled on the side. This was already a nice feature when they added it to their version of the Arduino Uno, but it's actually important for the Mega because of the sheer pin count when you're using dozens of I/Os to log sensor data and control devices , especially with a shield above. . They even praised the Arduino.cc on the board. I recommend this version of the board to others on the market.
