Review on High-Performance Edifier T5 Powered Subwoofer - Immersive 70w RMS Active Woofer with 8 inch Driver and Low Pass Filter by Obhed Leblanc

I bought this subwoofer along with Edifier R1280Ts bookshelf speakers and a turntable and they are a perfect match. A pair of R1280Ts are great sounding and good looking speakers, but like any speaker of this size, they just can't produce enough bass. The T5 rounds out the package with more bass and volume. The T5 is very flexible and offers connectivity for different sources, but what I really like is that it has both a volume control and an adjustable low-pass filter. These two controls make it easy to customize the sound for any song or album. This is especially useful when listening to vinyl, as older recordings tend to be "scattered" in terms of recording and playback dynamics. After a few seconds of adjusting these controls, "Black Sabbath's First Album" and "The Best of Joe Pass" sound great. The T5 is a very good subwoofer.
