I am professionally engaged in sound and quite a lot of headphones from different manufacturers "passed" through my ears. I now have several Sennheisers alone - HD 600, HD 280 Pro, HD 380. I bought HD 206 data for my father and compared them with all of those listed. In short, the HD 206 has quite decent sound for their price. I came across an example where the left speaker was a little more bass than the right one, which was a little frustrating, but perhaps most people will not pay attention to such details. Apparently, the manufacturer's savings affect the stability of the characteristics of the speakers. So, Sennheiser HD 206 are very light, they sit on the head extremely comfortably. This is probably one of the most comfortable headphones I've ever had! The sound is more or less even, up to 1.5 kHz almost a straight line, which has a positive effect on the naturalness of the timbres. At 3-3.5 kHz and 7-9 kHz there are rises - this gives a brighter and "lighter" character to the sound, and vocals and cymbals can sometimes have a "click". At the highest after 15 kHz - a noticeable decline. Oddly enough, the overall character of the sound is similar to the flagship HD 600, but loses to them in detail, transparency and the amount of distortion. The HD 280 Pro and HD 380 are in a completely different audio paradigm. The HD 206 focuses on the mids, but the lows are also sufficient. "Air" at high is a little lacking, but not critical. The tools are a bit clunky. The reverb tails are heard well, the attack is a little blurry. The frequencies of 7-8 kHz are clearly embellished. The depth and detail of the scene is not the best, but not a failure either. Compared to flagship models, the sound is slightly flatter and "simple". But in general, the headphones are comfortable and interesting to listen to, I liked the sound!
