Solid block. The spirit level works perfectly. Laser distance works EXCEPT the laser is misaligned. He fires the device at an angle. This creates a problem as it is impossible to know the accuracy of the measured distance. Good if you want to approximate large distances, but problematic if you are an interior designer. You might as well use a tape measure for anything under 20 feet. Maybe this is just my device but there are many reviews saying the same thing. It looks like a critical failure of the laser and level combination. I'm sending mine back.
