I have 2 baby turtles and wanted to add grass fiber as a main ingredient to their diet. The granules are really big and very hard, but you just need to put them in a shallow bowl and soak in a layer of water for about 20 minutes. When you return they are stretched out, fluffy and moist. Simply mash the already inflated pellets in a bowl to dry them again and you can use the pellet powder to add them to your food. I usually dice the cactus (nopales) with some squash, squash, fruit or edible flowers and add plenty. Grass grains crumble. Turtles LOVE it! It smells like a sweet and wonderfully grassy scent of alfalfa, hay and bermuda grass (which these pellets are made of). Baby turtles eat a lot of this stuff and they are happy, healthy, active and growing into big, healthy babies. poop. No constipation or soggy poo with these guys. (Maybe TMI, but for a reptile owner, clapping your animals is an important indicator of health.) I'm a lifetime customer for sure! My sulcats love it and so do I!
