Review on Grommet Machine with Included Grommets: Glarks by Keith Harris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Much easier and better than trying to pound bushings with a hammer and tool

Reviews are a little mixed It appears to be cast iron and the finish appears to be spray painted or powder coated. There are a few spots on the base where the paint has peeled off. I'll probably sand it down a bit and paint it. Easy to Use - First attach the grip, adjust the dies for your hub size and press down. It twists the sleeve well so it doesn't crack and doesn't leave sharp edges. The bushings supplied with the press are definitely metric and have a smaller flange width, but they will work well with Tandy or other English craft shop bushings. It doesn't take much effort to crimp the sockets, so you don't feel like you have to be a gorilla to use this device. I found it slightly better when I turn the fabric inside out with the sleeve and press it back down - I think it helps finish it off a bit better. Overall it seems a bit overpriced for what you get, but well worth it when trying to attach eyelets to garments where appearance is very important and pounding with a hammer, tool and die just won't cut it. .
