This meter responds to small and large changes in 4 gases within seconds. You can test an O2 meter simply by simply breathing on it, which will trigger the standard low oxygen alarm (the attached photo shows the alarm triggered on this particular test - it is both an audible and visual alarm). I also tested for explosive gas by placing it next to my propane grill and it detected explosive propane. However, the default alarm threshold may need to be set a little lower, as although I smelled propane and found a concentration of 10% LEL, the alarm did not go off. This is something that can be customized. The carbon monoxide alarm went off within seconds of placing the meter next to the tailpipe of my moving car. Vehicle exhaust and even your breath can result in measurable levels of H2S. So my guess is that it works as intended. The only downside is that this detector doesn't have a long battery life and will warn you of low battery after 12-14 hours. But you need it to work for a long time, you can just leave it connected to the network for continuous operation. All in all I am very satisfied with his work and can recommend it!
