Just got this up and running recently when I started using my home theater live. In my setup I placed all the equipment outside of the room and I have a wall plate for the left front speaker that has this connector module. I plug my IR repeater sensor into this socket and then use the second one in the next room to connect the IR junction box. Works perfectly! It is very easy to work with due to the screw termination for the wires, but be aware that you will need a small jeweler's flathead screwdriver to tighten the screws.
