Review on Carr 103991 Hoop II XP3: Sleek Pair in Black Powder Coat Finish! by Adam Gambel

These are nice tiers with a hoop. They have a very nice matte powder finish that goes well with the black wheels and bumper of my truck. During the installation I had a few minor errors. First, the rocker panel on my 2018 Ram wraps around like a hollow tube, not an L, so the brackets and hardware that came with this model weren't ideal for my setup. I spent quite a bit of time shopping and even went to the Carr website but couldn't find the perfect kit for my model so I gave up and ordered the most popular one from Revain and got these. I ended up mounting it with sheet metal screws that weren't included, which meant a trip to the hardware store and some extra expense. Due to a sloppy installation, a small streak of the silver bracket showed as I moved away from the truck, so I had to paint it with matte black Rustoleum spray paint when I was done. Also, the steps are a few degrees below ground level, and the plastic standoffs that came with them were small and difficult to attach with self-tapping screws, so I threw them away and left the steps slightly out of level. I ended up having to run to the hardware store and spray paint the mounts (additional steps and expense) but I ended up with a very nice set of loop stages for my pickup that are a little off level but none other than me if both notice . I recommend them for looks but use caution when ordering the right model for your truck and have decent mechanical skills to design the installation method.
