Excellent product for hauling groceries and winch

My item arrived quickly and was well packaged. The contents of the package have not been damaged. The sealed parts bag contains all the necessary parts. The main issue when installing low-hanging steps is ground clearance. The mounting hardware is sufficient to support the steps, but not strong enough to shatter the car's frame if it hits an obstacle. I can replace the removable ring pins with step attachment points so the tire steps can be easily removed off-road.

Fits my Mercedes Sprinter Van

Bolts onto my Sprinter Van, perfect fit. The van was too tall to climb in easily, so I put one on each front and side door. They bend a little, but probably due to the fact that I'm a very heavy person, they won't bend for a normal person. I think the flex is actually due to the sheet metal of the van's rocker panel, not the step or bracket. The only other problem is that they'll dangle without protection. If I hit a curb, deep pothole, or parking barrier, I'll probably rip them off.

can i get a tire

Easy to install, looks solid and looks good - everything is as described. A few things I would change about the kit: 1. The spacers that you get for some vehicles are plastic - wouldn't it be a lot more expensive to make them out of cheap pot steel? 2. The brackets are galvanized steel - I would prefer if they were powder coated to match the color of the tier you are receiving. That zinc will look horrible in less than a year if road salt or other corrosives get on it. I painted mine with a…

An affordable alternative to Ford Transit front footpegs.

Installed on a Ford Transit 130WB (also works on 148WB). The factory running board on my parents' Transit only covers the sliding door, giving the driver and passenger a big step forward. This made it difficult for my mother/father to sit in the passenger/driver seats. A complete set of footpegs (full length passenger plus rider) costs over $600 at Ford and $300-400 at the aftermarket. It took me about 1.5 hours to install these steps. I added a steel base plate (3" x 1/8") and attached the…

Overall I am very happy with these

Just got these steps and installed. It took me about an hour and a half to get the tools and install them. Instructions are fine. They give very basic illustrations of where you will drill and fasten based on their knowledge of different truck models and years, but it's not all inclusive. If your truck isn't there, just look at all the illustrations and get an idea of what you're trying to do. They are attached to the truck's rocker arm, not the frame. For those of you unfamiliar with all of…

Do not jump! Just push!

My 97 F150 has had a Carr hoop for 17 years. I saw no reason not to put them on my 2013 F150 Supercrew. I prefer the single step to the "trip" or "nerf bar" because I'm often out in the woods and mud. I've encountered submerged stumps in the mud and have already broken one off. But I just got a new one and screwed it directly to the existing holes. Much cheaper than replacing a long nerf bar. These steps cost money and provide the 'right' spot to help get in and out of the pickup truck. I…

Difficult setup for a 2018 Ram but I figured it out - handsome

These are nice tiers with a hoop. They have a very nice matte powder finish that goes well with the black wheels and bumper of my truck. During the installation I had a few minor errors. First, the rocker panel on my 2018 Ram wraps around like a hollow tube, not an L, so the brackets and hardware that came with this model weren't ideal for my setup. I spent quite a bit of time shopping and even went to the Carr website but couldn't find the perfect kit for my model so I gave up and ordered the…

Drilling holes is all you need.

Installed these steps on my 2012 Silverado 2500HD which is high off the ground and difficult to get in and out of. Installation took about 90 minutes for the first, much quicker for the second. The instructions were sufficient. There is also a lot of additional equipment. To do this, you'll need to slip under the car to drill through the back of the rocker panels. The largest hole needed was 5/16" and due to the thickness of the metal I started with the smallest bit and worked my way up to…
