The smaller width is better for my high support non-slip seats. The padding is comfortable and, above all, the airflow cools the back and buttocks well, as intended. BUT there are two main issues that I will address when returning for a refund: 1. No on/off switch. Just plugging it into a 12V socket is enough. My setup was to put an extension cord in the rear cargo area to free up one under the dash for other things. Without a switch, I have to stop the car, open the tailgate and plug it into the outlet. It's annoying on the track. 2. When the fan is on, it only blows at a high speed, making it very loud and intrusive. I can't find a way to adjust the fan speed for those times when I'm driving on dirt roads and want a quieter setting.
