===================. Updated Rating ===================== I downgraded my rating to one star for a very important reason. The Wavlink Gigabit WiFi Dual Band Wireless Internet Router proved to be very unreliable. It keeps losing internet access even though it's connected directly to my main router. This results in all wireless and wired clients being unable to access internet sites. To reconnect you will need to power cycle your Wavlink Gigabit WiFi Dual Band Wireless Internet Router. This was a recurring issue, occurring multiple times throughout the day. No other routers on my network have this problem. I have checked the settings on my Wavlink Gigabit WiFi Dual Band Wireless Internet Router and also made sure the firmware is up to date. I had no choice but to remove and replace the router. ********** ********* Original Review ************************* Dual Band Wireless Internet Der Wavlink Gigabit WiFi Router is a decent product with some strange features. None of the quirks prevent it from being a very handy wired and Wi-Fi router. The first quirk is Wavlink's insistence that the gigabit wireless router is "also a work of art". The body is said to have been designed by Jacob Jensen. I don't know who Jacob Jensen is or what exactly he designs, but this device looks like a standard black box router. The design is nothing special - at least in my opinion. The Wavlink Gigabit WiFi Router has only three Ethernet LAN ports (one port is the WAN port for connecting to the main router). Although Wavlink calls it a "Gigabit" router, I haven't found any evidence that the router actually has Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports. The Wavlink app (Android and iOS) is terrible. It is stated to work with this router. However, it is not possible to log in or control the router via the app. In fact, this leads to a network error message. This is a complete failure. Luckily, there's reliable access to all of the router's features via a standard web browser. Almost everything you will ever need to manage can be easily managed from the browser interface. The browser is also used for the initial setup of the Wavlink Gigabit WiFi Router. I found it to be an easy and straightforward process. Wavlink makes another announcement. They say the Wavlink Gigabit WiFi Router "can distribute Wi-Fi throughout the home, eliminating signal dead zones in the home." I thought that was generally true. We have a pretty big three story house. Using a Wavlink Gigabit WiFi router located about halfway down the ground floor, I measured signal strength on all three floors. The lowest signal I measured on a floor was -75 dBm (about 60% of the maximum signal strength). That's very good, especially when you consider that the Wavlink Gigabit WiFi router does not require any external antennas. LCD screen. Located on the top of the router, it provides a variety of information about the router and its performance. It even shows the local weather - although the temperature is shown in degrees C and I couldn't find a way to change that to F. The LCD provides a faster way to check the status of the router than opening a web browser session.
