I chose this router for its features and price. I have an ATT 2Wire gateway with a built in wireless router so I thought it would be difficult to set up. When I first connected it to the 2Wire gateway, it connected via the wired computer without any problems, but of course the wireless part had to be configured. I tried setting up "master", followed all the instructions, but lost all internet connections (so I put four). So I did the following steps manually and they worked for me. Maybe these steps will help someone here. I made sure the Trendnet router is configured via a wired computer (this is important).2. As for my 2Wire gateway (which may differ from other modems), I first had to find the IP address assigned to the Trendnet router. First I accessed the 2Wire interface using the address 192.168.1.254 and noted the IP addresses of all connected devices. I then connected the Trendnet router to 2Wire and made a note of the IP address of the new device, which should have been the IP address of the Trendnet.3 router. I configured 2Wire to allow all traffic via DMZ to the new IP address and then disabled wireless internet from the 2Wire.4 gateway. Since I have already tried to use the wizard without success, I have factory reset the Trendnet router. There is a small hole on the side for that, or you can use the router interface under the admin tab. After restarting, I had a wired internet connection again.5. I accessed the router interface with the address 192.168.10.1, entered the credentials (admin for both, username and password), clicked on the 2.4GHz link, assigned a name next to the WiFi name (SSID). and they clicked apply (leave everything else as default).6. Click on the "Security" link, select the security mode (wep-auto in my case) and then assign a security key to key 1, which would be the default key. I used ten digits.7. Click Apply and choose to reboot the router. After I entered the password (admin by default), the router returned to service.8. I tried connecting to a wireless PC, entered the security key selected in step 6 above, and routed through the internet the same way (I followed steps 5 through 7 to set up 5GHz wireless transmission. I obviously clicked on the 5GHz link). 9. To ensure my network is secure, I clicked on the 'Administrator' tab, clicked on the 'Manage' link and changed the default password (admin).10. I used Speakeasy Speed-Test to check internet speed. It works well.
