I am posting my original review below but updating it with this: After 6 weeks the seat broke in half. I understand that I'm taller than average, but 6 weeks is kind of a record (usually a cheap toilet seat lasts me 7-10 years). If you're a short person you'll probably be fine, but taller people might want to try a different toilet seat. They call it "shaped wood" - short for something made from sawdust in a matrix. It looked like crumbly dough. The thin enamel surface was not enough to fix it. --------------- I just installed it. While not difficult to install, they designed their own screw mounts. So in the past few years I've had to replace three toilet seats, each with its own patented "system" for attaching to the toilet. to the best mousetrap as the holy grail of the household, but sometimes it's best to leave things as they are. The previous seat didn't rock, and I found it was because the previous occupant had put double-sided foam tape under the hinges. Well done former resident! I've been using this toilet for 8 years now and never knew there was tape in it and the seat wouldn't slip! For simple solutions! Hooray, I installed this seat and its uselessly unique mounts. But when I need a new one again, I go to the old school and use double sided tape.
