Our thread is elastic, so if you hang even a five-pound weight on it, it will sag excessively. I hung a 5 pound bird feeder on it and it almost touched the ground. If you want to hang several picture frames with different weights, you will never be able to align them horizontally because the frames will sag at different levels.
