Tips to get the most out of this knife! Ideal for cutting Rubbermaid plastic kegs

I use this to cut holes in the lids of large plastic kegs (e.g. Rubbermaid, 10-15 gallons) , I sincerely believe this is the closest thing to the ideal solution. If you are using for a similar project I would consider getting a lighter and a butane refill so you can heat the plastic to speed up the process as the hot knife will slow down at times indicating that it needs to be brought up to temperature again. it is also possible to use a utility knife or a precision knife heated periodically with a lighter to alternate between this knife and a knife heated by a flashlight. There can also be a mask to avoid inhaling plastic fumes, some types of plastic will make the room smelly if not ventilated well. .Mark the area you want to cut before you start

Pros
  • Cuts Styrofoam for glazing pictures, trimming plastic and even making vinyl stencils
Cons
  • I'll be writing back
