Pressure cooker gasket S-9892 fits Mirro

I have an old Mirro pressure cooker that the gasket is gone so I ordered this so called replacement - THIS IS NOT! it fits (diameter) but it's thinner than the normal original so it doesn't make a proper seal to the vacuum - I'm so disappointed - my pressure cooker is fine except for this seal - I've tried replacing it with another new one to replace (pressure cooker), but the quality of the new ones is not as good as the originals - even bad in my opinion. I'm so upset that I've used my pressure cooker for so many of my favorite recipes!
