Two chickens died a few hours after I replaced the heating pad with this one. Both were healthy chickens. I had a 150w ceramic lamp with no bulb and decided to switch to it when it got colder. It was only about 50 degrees outside and only 56 degrees under the lamp so they weren't too hot. One died near the light and the other was found dead near the door as if trying to escape. The lens is also different from what is shown in the photos. Red is painted, not stained glass. I tested them and they admit a strong chemical odor while working. Luckily I didn't put them in other pens or kill other animals with them. I contacted Revane and they said "It wasn't supposed to be" after I said it killed them. They were rude and didn't want to remove it from the site either after learning that two reviews now say it kills chickens. They only offered me a refund and a $20 store credit which I didn't even get. Avoid at all costs, not worth the risk. After this experience I would not buy anything like this from Revain again.
