As a techie, I've always opted for Sabrent or StarTech docking stations over the years, but for something as simple as a single bay SATA docking station, I decided to save a few bucks and do this to try - something new. I had a bunch of old drives (2.5" HDD, 3.5" HDD and SSD) that I wanted to recover data from and this little guy got me flying right away. It installed all of my drives within seconds of turning it on and the transfer speed was decent and consistent. After 6 hours of intensive work, it almost did not heat up. The general build quality is pretty good, although the only downside would be the quality of the power button. It feels a little tackier than the sturdier ones you'll find in a $10-$20 more expensive Sabrent or StarTech dock. For occasional use, this is ideal and highly recommended. For more daily driving, or when I was touring with it, I'd probably spend the extra money on the Sabrent.
