I use these on my fleece lined guinea pigs. I use a fleece liner (fleece, earliner, fleece) and then another one under the fleece liner. My guinea pigs never get their paws wet and I change their fleece liners maybe every few weeks, cleaning stains often and adding extra padding to where they eat and sleep. Towels in or under fleece liners can't compete with these travel mats. However, DO NOT use them in your sewing machine. Hand sew with thread and a thread needle and machine the batting if you like it cleaner. While these pads are highly absorbent, they are by no means evenly woven and I don't want them to be. They have higher and lower density cuts and the way they are made keeps the price down. This density variation can damage your sewing machine and needles.
