Good product. I've used it with both types.
Great product. I've used it with both types of USB connections and tested the same speeds as when connected directly to my computer (xps 13 9350). The USB A to C converter comes in handy when you use a regular port on this hub. Also, a tip: I've been looking for a USB-C hub that has both Ethernet and HDMI, and the cheapest I could find was Dell's, which is expensive. A cheaper solution is to connect it to a USB port of a separate HDMI + USB adapter. If you have a hub with a USB-C charging port with HDMI, you can get all the benefits of a Thunderbolt dock (HD video, Ethernet). , power and 3 USB ports) for about a quarter of the price.
