Sometimes I just need to share a few photos, documents or slideshows with family or friends who may not have access to the same secure servers or cloud services. USB2 means slow, so it takes some time to securely erase and reformat to share with Mac and PC users. They're not very fast, but these sticks are strong, reliable, and available as a free gift. The metal strip provides some protection for the business end but also provides a good surface for a sticky note or small label. I think this style is sold for commercial printing. I'm happy with my purchase and happy to have a few spare sticks on hand.
