I recently had a home project where we put a computer in the children's lobby (family computer). We didn't want a real computer there, so I used my old HTPC in my back room rack. Because of this I had to route the video and USB to the wall where the monitor would be. I didn't want to use VGA because if the monitor fails I want to replace it with another one that supports HDMI input. When I was looking for a way to convert HDMI to VGA or DVI with audio I figured it was the end of a bulky box behind the monitor. I was pleasantly surprised when I found this adapter. This allows me to split HDMI into VGA and audio in a small package with no additional power requirements. The only issue I had was that the speaker bar for my monitor was interfering with the audio cable output a bit, but this is in no way a fault of this adapter and they still work together with no issues. I also had absolutely no problems with Windows 10 using this adapter. It only worked when I plugged it in. I have audio and video.
