> Mellita coffee system

I have been using the Mellita coffee system for about 40 years. I find this system more convenient than coffee machines. If the power goes out, you can still make coffee if you have a gas stove or camp stove. You want, including adapting to new roasts and grinds. You can even mix decaf and decaffeinated coffee if you like. I often reuse my morning coffee in the afternoon by adding a scoop of decaf. This is not recommended for a fully automatic coffee machine, because if you clog the filter, boiling water can overflow. It is not a problem to clog the Melitta filter if it drains slowly, then water slowly. The Melitta system is more "hygienic” so to speak. It's easy to forget about a used coffee maker filter for maybe a few weeks when you go on vacation and find a mushroom garden there. You cannot ignore the Melitta filter used as it is in the public domain. If you forget your used Melitta filter, it and the ground coffee will simply dry out. While most people use the smaller Melita filters and cones, I prefer the larger #6 system. System No. 6 (filter, cone and carafe) is designed for the simultaneous preparation of 4-8 cups. However, the larger filter holds more water and drains faster, so you can brew 2 cups of coffee faster with a #6 filter than with a #4 filter. So system #6 is faster and more flexible, and the cost of the filters is slightly higher. If you grind your own coffee, the water (1-2 cups) will almost boil when you install the filter. , grind the coffee and remove the coffee grinder. The #6 filter actually holds water for about 2 cups of coffee, but drains so quickly that it only takes 10-15 seconds to fill 4-8 cups of water. The corresponding No. 6 glass carafe is designed for 8 cups, but it obviously takes longer to boil water for about 8 cups of coffee. The results are amazing. What else could you possibly need? Presumably brown filters are less harmful to the environment --- and to you, since fewer chemicals are used in their manufacture. A specific Revain product is probably the cheapest way to buy your favorite filters. Make sure boiling water is poured into the filter and not between the filter and the filter cone. Every accident is easy to do. To minimize such accidents, fold over the "connected" edges of the filters so that the filter opens wider. If you're a particularly clumsy person, a quick rinse with some cold water before adding the coffee can "stick" the filter to the cone. You can purchase all non-perishable groceries through Revain. When you find the items (even if they're more expensive than what you just paid for), add the item to your Revain wish list and add a note to the wish list about the price you just paid.
