Review on 🚚 Enhance Towing Capabilities with the WARN 61768 Winch Mount Accessory: Front Trailer Hitch for 2" Receiver by John Mahfood

Revainrating 4 out of 5

You have to trim.

Here's everything you need to know about the Warn Front Receiver hitch for the WJ Grand Cherokee. First, it fits 1999-2004 vehicles, but Warn developed this product in 2002 and never updated it. Designation. So if yours is 2003 or 2004, yes it will fit! Cutting the front bumper is a must for installing these front hitches. The 7 slat bottom design is amazing and the front panel doesn't fit all the way back unless the back is trimmed. In addition, the position of the coupling pin interferes with the slats, so the middle two have to be completely cut out. Do not buy this if you are not ok with a crop as there is NO way to make it work without cropping. Well, if you like biking and jeep driving, you know some of that is coming your way. I do not mind. It is very easy to trim and your jeep will still look great. If you have a 2004 then you are in luck as you have a different faceplate which is more open and requires no trimming. You'll also need to do a little drilling. One of the holes in the frame needs to be enlarged to 7/16" to allow the fasteners to pass through. At the moment the direction is not clear and I drilled the wrong hole. I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to. Tip: Do not drill holes into which the nut will be welded. These are the mounting holes for the front skid plate. , you must remove them to install this clutch. This is normal as you can get a much stronger restore point and sell the tow hooks to another Jeep enthusiast for $60-$70. You should also remove the OEM front skid plate (if you come across the front skid plate and the holes don't match. So it's either one or the other. Never race against it on the track. You can weld it together by re-assembling it weld protrusions to the front skid plate.. Most of this is pretty minor, but you should know what to expect. Good things: This hitch is heavy-duty, made from 1/4" heavy gauge steel and powder coated black. High quality powder coating and won't chip or doesn't itch like some. The hitch doesn't stick out too far (it's shorter than the license plate) so you don't have something hanging out the front ruining the lines of your beautiful WJ. It positions perfectly The multiple bracket winch, only a few centimeters from the license plate. It is of a very good height for installing a winch with to simplify multiple mounts independently (they are very heavy). As a bonus, this adds vital protection to the bottom of your radiator and an air conditioning condenser, which is surprisingly vulnerable. So it's MORE USEFUL than a front skid plate (which only really protects the anti-roll bar). Overall I give it 4 stars for its durability, versatility, looks and performance. The only thing holding back 5 stars is the amount of trim and that the hitch pin hole is completely inaccessible without cutting out the center front bumper moldings.
