I've only had it for 10 days so I can only give a brief review. I'm currently debating whether to keep it or whether there is something better in the same price range. First, it doesn't hold 1 gallon of water. "Tank" is more like a tray. It holds about 32 ounces if you fill it close to the top, which isn't recommended. If you do this, be very careful as the water will run through the machine very easily. The tray does not open/close smoothly, so you need to be careful and press both sides while keeping the tower stable. Otherwise the water will squirt out and you'll have to start over. More plastic bottle coolers for water "ice crystal". They freeze fairly quickly, but melt just as quickly at room temperature. They don't really fit anywhere, so you just put them on the side opposite the pump and kinda giggle so you can still close the compartment. It says not to add ice. I added a little but made sure there was enough water. The instructions say this can freeze the pump. The sound is very quiet even at high speeds when the fans/radiators are running. Fashion, okay, that's just weird and I don't see why they're even an option. Normal is just a normal constant steady flow of air. Nat (natural) only blows to start at low speed, continues at medium speed, then shuts off high and repeats for 5 seconds. Sleep works the same as natural sleep, but takes a 2-second break twice in a row. and starts over. Remote control. I haven't actually used the remote but as they say my TV remote changes some settings. Strange I know. The remote control is still in the original plastic, never opened. When I use the TV remote and turn the volume up or down, the unit beeps and I can see the adjustment lights moving. I didn't turn them all off, but increasing the volume changes the timer, decreasing the volume toggles swing mode on/off. So that's it. In general, I use it in a small space, a small bedroom, maybe 150 square meters. I agree to add new water and swap out the crystal coolers every few hours. With no cold water and bags, this is a decent fan. You just have to make sure that you don't use the "Do not cool" option when there is no water in the compartment. It can run all night when Cool isn't on, because then it's just a regular fan. It turns off after a certain amount of time even if you haven't activated the timer. I only know because I fell asleep with it on and it turned itself off. So there is a security feature. I hope that was helpful. It wasn't as great as I hoped, but honestly I don't think I could do much better if I didn't pay more than $350.
