I had never owned a dishwasher before moving to My Habitat of Detrout. The kids were my dishwasher and it took us a while to figure out how to operate the machine. I personally hate watching the dishes and have enjoyed watching the kids wash the dishes. But one by one they left more and more dishes like in a sink. or made unnecessary trips to the dishwasher just to see if the dishes were dirty or clean. It was always the opposite of what I wanted. I'm not a lazy person but I hate time wasters and this was a time waster. So I have this: It's a magnet that attaches to the front of the dishwasher. I can easily switch it from dirty to clean by sliding the silver plate back and forth. I like that it's color coded because I'm getting older. You can set the panel to CLEAN.or Dirty., and I can see it from across the room. Love it. Highly recommended. #motownmama
