Serves its purpose. It's great for moving fuel in a pinch and will be added to my emergency tool kit. You know what you're buying here, guys. Pear-style siphons are NOT pumps. Its purpose is to start a gravity siphon from one container to another. However, one container must be higher than the other. Do yourself a favor and find a check valve and mark the end of it. You may have trouble starting the siphon, especially in the dark, before realizing you have it the wrong way round. The materials seem good for the price. If it lasts 3 years without drying out then it was worth the $12.99 spent ESPECIALLY when I need it! If you are looking for something for regular use I would suggest a piston pump (also does not require a gravity siphon) or an electric pump. If you know exactly what you are buying here, then buy with confidence! If you want to pump 10 gallons of fuel up a hill in 3 minutes, you've picked the wrong product.
