Review on Sargent Art 90 2030 Stretched Burlap by Michelle Langley
Very rough surface
I expected the surface of the jute to be rougher than other canvases, but it is really rough. Don't expect smooth lines. The clear gesso is on the front (not the back as stated in the product description) but feels a bit tacky. When I'm done, I'll cover it with a layer of varnish, otherwise I feel that the canvas will attract dust very quickly. Better for "tricky projects" than traditional oil/acrylic paintings. Also the color of the burlap is more of a warm brown (cardboard colour) than the blue-grey in the picture.
