To be honest I took the risk and it was worth it. I'm 65 and need comfortable walking shoes, but I'm also looking for more stylish pieces that offer some of the other benefits I need. This is the first time I've worn sneakers/sneakers that I haven't paid hundreds of dollars for. I've worn them with sneaker socks for extra comfort, but they have a little padding. They look like water shoes but all I can say is that I felt comfortable, my feet didn't hurt and I was happy. I buy more when I travel. I love these sneakers and they look very nice and fit well. Get your normal size.
