I love these TV stands and recommend them. They are durable and luckily none of mine had any flaws. This is the second time I've bought wooden TV stands and I really like that they're better than cheap little metal legs. For those wondering how to protect food surfaces from damage, I've found a great solution: clean the surface and wipe dry, then spray the food surface with clear spray paint. I've done this and nothing spills will ruin the wood, it just sits on top until cleaned. I applied one coat, let it dry and then applied a second. This is a great extra protection for children and clumsy guests. I did this with my first set of wooden trays and they have survived 5 years of military travel. I think they could last for a while too with a little extra protection.
