I made sure I bought the right memory. I have verified that this is correct according to Apple and the website. I upgraded from 2 x 4 megabytes to 4 x 8 megabytes (from 8 megabytes to 32 megabytes). After installation, I had to restart my computer twice before it would boot up. The computer worked fine for a while (about two months) before it started shutting down constantly. I put the original 8 megabytes back in and the computer worked fine. So I came to the conclusion that it was a memory. I tried to return it but it was overdue. I bought a 4X8meg OWC chip and the computer has been working great ever since. I have an imac 27" late 2015.
