Review on πŸ’Ύ Mediasonic HFR2-SU3S2 PRORAID: 4 Bay 3.5" SATA Hard Drive Enclosure with USB 3.0 & eSATA Connectivity by Michael Copeland

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Why would anyone give less than 5 stars?

I'm an advanced user, not a techie. I've never done a RAID backup, but I think I can figure it out, partly with this disk bay. This is a great little unit. I don't know why anyone would give less than 5 stars if they didn't have a defect. The instructions definitely try to be discreet, and there are a lot of steps and caveats. There are step by step photos and maybe more than a techie wants to know, I'm not sure. Right now I just want to organize my files, then I add a 6 or 8TB drive as a primary drive and create offline backups that are kept on my shelf where hackers can't get or try to blackmail me, to hire me free. 2-2TB and 2-1TB drives inserted and set to single mode. Without formatting and installing any software, my computer recognized all 4 drives without any setup or formatting. All files were intact on each disk. The device looks very decently powerful, the fan is sufficient, but I haven't started to load it with long copying yet. Looks pretty cool, love the display etc. It will do more than I need and that's what I was looking for.

Pros
  • One-year trial
Cons
  • Null
