I could overheat it.

My desk is 80-90 degrees (work from home and too proud to be AC all the time) and I have a 2020 MacBook Air with two HDMI monitors plugged in - should too have fan cooling, of course, otherwise I'll overheat on zoom calls. This worked fine for about a week, but then one of the HDMI ports just stopped working along with the VGA port. Of course I checked carefully, swapped cables and monitors in every possible configuration, but to no avail. My fan blew a little on the hub but not much and it was visibly very warm during use. Of course, when the HDMI port failed, the hub got significantly colder. I'm disappointed as it's hard to find a budget solution for a dual HDMI hub for a modern Mac (it needs to be plugged into _both_ Thunderbolt 3 ports). Ports and even expensive, bulky $100 hubs usually just plug into a single USB-C). After that failed, I just got one of those other hubs (which connects all my other peripherals, the power supply, and an HDMI port to it) and used the Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter in the free Thunderbolt on Mac. On the other hand, I ran conditions and peripherals that overheated the MacBook itself and required a fan, so I'm not sure I can blame the hub itself. I'm still leaving it as a travel hub as the other port still works and I only use an external monitor when traveling.
