Review on Satco S3862 120V 60W G25 Medium Base Silver Crown Light Bulb - Ultimate Illumination Solution by Cho Screeton

I bought these bulbs at my local lighting store for my Hollywood style light bar over my sink last year. They work well to reduce glare from bare bulbs. I found exactly the same lamp description on Revain at half price and ordered: Satco brand, silver crown, globe light, #3862 etc - all looked the same. The onions arrived and the packaging was different than before, but who cares about the packaging. What's also different is that the ring of material that sits in the bulb's base is now an ugly orange-rusty color, and since the bottom half of the bulb is clear glass, that colored ring is obvious. It just looks disgusting. Earlier lamps had a silver ring or something you couldn't even see. Not terrible, but definitely unattractive and disappointing. I'm too lazy to send them back and start over, but if your lightbulb is visible, consider that it may bother you too.
