These are useful flashlights with a thoughtful design and practical features. These lights are easy to install and have a built in magnetic base that will stick to any steel or iron surface. There is also a self-adhesive black metal strip that can be attached to a wall, ceiling, closet or anything else to place the light where you need it. It took me a few minutes to figure out that I had to peel this flexible black strip off the back of the light so the magnets would hang on the metal shelves in my closet. I'd like the adhesive strips to use removable tape like the Command strips so it's easier to remove later if I decide to attach one of the fixtures to a painted wall or ceiling. The lights have internal rechargeable batteries and the 3 light set comes with a micro USB charging cable. They supply a USB wallbox when it's time to charge. I like it better than buying AA or AAA batteries. There is a small knob on one end that allows you to customize how you want the light to work. You can set the light to only turn on when motion is detected at night (making it useful as a night light in a bathroom or hallway). This is the default mode if you just hold down the setup button until the indicator lights up. If you press and hold the button longer, the red indicator light will light up. In this mode, the light is activated with every movement, even in daylight. This "day mode" setting is useful, for example, to illuminate the work surface of the worktop under a kitchen cabinet simply by waving your hand underneath. You can also press and hold the small adjustment button until the red and blue lights start flashing, the light will stay on continuously until you turn it off with a 3 second button press. Everything works well and is explained in a small manual. This is also indicated on a sticker on the side of the lantern. Colored indicator icons show how to set each mode. The displays are bright and I find them really useful. I have found many places where they can be used.
