I was very concerned about how I would cut out would this shower mixer valve when trying to cut a Hardiebacker record. I came across this drill and it worked so well! What. Great investment just for this project! speed, then slowly lower the drill bit to the surface until it kicks up dust and begins to make a groove in the cement board. Once the groove is made, it cuts easily in less than 10 seconds! If you try to make contact with the drill at low speed the drill will go everywhere and wobble making it impossible to hit the target. I made my holes for this shower project, the tub fill hole, the mixer valve hole (5 1/ 4 inches) and the shower holes on the first try and it fits perfectly! (Bought other small R bits for other cuts) I'm worried if I could use this to cut through my next tile, which is a 12" x 24" ceramic tile. I understand that water needs to be on it so the bat and tile don't overheat. I have an assistant pour water on the tiles while I drill. Great buy and worth the money! It is better to pay the contractor at any time.
