Everything is exactly as it looks in the picture and they do a good job. By now I've deadened almost all of my curls; Some of them end up dissolving, so I used the tool one more time or two. But yes, they work wonders for those who love the look of round, tight curls on the ends. The only complaint and reason they aren't five stars is that you have to use them carefully or they will pick you and it hurts. It hasn't hurt my skin yet, but I think it might if I'm not careful. Also, steel parts can bend if you use too much force, but they can easily be bent back into shape. Can be a problem for thicker curls than mine.
