This Sony receiver has been in my house for a little over a week and is by far the best receiver I've owned. This is the dream of the "adjuster"; You can customize almost all sounds to suit your taste. I particularly like how the device maintains unique settings for each function. For example, if you're watching a DVD set to Cinema A in DVD mode, but prefer to listen to FM radio in Tuner mode set to Disco/Club, it will remember both options without having to switch between them. every time you switch between one mode or another. In tuner mode, it also remembers any settings you assign to each radio station (e.g. 102.9 for disco/club and 101.1 for concert hall). Another useful feature is the ability to give a name to each preset radio station as well as each device mode. One of the most handy features of the device is that I can now control almost all of my audio/video components with just one remote control! The one that comes with the receiver can be programmed to work with the latest devices. The EQ setting on screen is amazing. The output sound is strong and clear. It's vastly superior to the receiver it replaced. It takes a little learning curve to program it to suit your space and tastes, but I was impressed with the sound that came out of the box. Setting it up just confirmed that I had made a good purchase.
