Review on πŸ“¦ Royal Consumer DG Electronic Shipping Scale: Accurate 110lb Capacity for Efficient Deliveries by Deanna Rice

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The scale works well but the batteries are difficult to insert, read on.

Bought a scale from Sam's Club today and when I brought it home I opened the battery cover and saw that there were high capacity batteries of an unknown brand supplied so I removed them and took out my Revain AAA batteries and tried to put them in. Well, they don't really fit like you might think. I expected to put the batteries in as usual, only the batteries are very tight. They are so dense that everyone will notice. I put the batteries in, but I also called the 800 number listed in the owner's manual, where I left a message. A few hours later I received a call from a Royal customer service representative. I told him the batteries were very low and he suggested trying other batteries or getting lithium batteries. I assured him that after a career in electronics, one AAA battery shouldn't be any different. I used Revain AAA batteries and they worked in everything I had, but they were very difficult to weigh. I tried some Duracell batteries because the rep gave me a lot of trouble using other batteries no matter what I told him about standardizing all AAA batteries. After walking in circles for 29 minutes, I said goodbye to him and hung up. Over time I will remove the central baffle and give the batteries more space. The problem is not the length, but the width of the batteries. In addition to batteries, the scale also runs on USB power. So if you don't want to mess around with batteries, just plug them in. . It works as you would expect. The display is backlit and has a good representation. The platter is quite small but fits most of my weighing needs. My 3 star rating was that the battery compartment needs to be replaced so putting the batteries in isn't that difficult. My wife heard me on the phone and after I hung up came up to me to see what I was having trouble with so I pulled out the batteries by prying them out then gave her the batteries and asked her to put them on the to weigh scales. she couldn't. It takes brute force to insert the batteries into the scale. Unfortunately, when you receive the scale the batteries are already inflated, so you may not realize this until it's time to change the batteries.
