This is a great product. The stainless steel is very good. I've read other reviews that mentioned the trim coming off and the lid being too tight, but that's not my experience. It's made of solid stainless steel, so finishes like chrome won't come off. Also, the lid has a loose fit so it can be easily removed while sitting on the counter. If you take it with you on a trip, it probably won't stay in place, but if necessary, an elastic band will do. It goes very well with my Himalaya shaving soap cleanser. As a tip, I put it in the oven for a few minutes and watched the soap soften, then let it harden on the underside. In general very satisfied.
