UPDATE: After leaving my 2x review below, GreatCircleUSA contacted me wanting to do their best to make me a happy customer. They offered a full refund or sent me a new slicer if I got a bad one (hey, that happens). I really wanted a slicer, so I got a new one. No hoops to jump through, just answered an email and a week later I had a new slicer at my door. I was very impressed but the whole process. Probably the best customer service I've ever received anywhere other than Amazon. These guys have said they stand by their products and do nothing to prove it. The slicer is a $100 slicer. I think my expectations were a bit high and now that I know there is a company out there willing to help me if I need anything, it was worth a hundred bucks. At the end of the day I can slice open the pork shoulder and make my favorite sandwich. I won't cut perfectly every time and I won't win a race, but I will have a great sandwich every once in a while. So I changed my rating from 2 to 4 stars. I mean it works. But it's slow, noisy, doesn't cut very well, cuts unevenly, not very powerfully, it seems like it's about to burn out at any moment. For cutting ham, roast beef, pork tenderloin, cheese. The ham was the only thing that cut right. Everything else was far from ideal. The result was more mangled pieces than anything that looked like a cut. I would not buy again
