Inferior sealing material is used.
Leakage at the fitting is a problem because the gasket is made of nylon material. Any movement of the pressure gauges can cause fittings to come loose and leak. Replacing the nylon seals with tapered rubber seals eliminates this problem. Knurled hose fittings are also much smaller than traditional coolant hose fittings.
