A month ago, a 30-year-old truck had an ignition shake. The truck started normally, but the key did not fully return to the "Run" position after starting the engine, resulting in the shift lever not being able to move out of the "Park" position unless I pressed the key cylinder and then manually turned the key back. a little. This started happening more and more often until one day (thank goodness that happened at my house) the key got stuck in the 'work' position and I had to pull the fuel pump fuse and then disconnect the battery to close it. I have this one Ordered part and bought two special tools needed for job (steering wheel puller and steering wheel lock plate compressor). There are no instructions for this part, but there are many videos on YouTube. Not too hard work on my airbag truck. That was the best $30 I've ever spent. The key works smoothly in all positions and no more wobbling/playing with the lock cylinder. It also goes into the "auxiliary" position which was not present in the old cylinder. But to be fair the original cylinder lasted 30 years so that's pretty good. Do yourself a favor and use this OEM part and not an aftermarket key cylinder. Do yourself an even bigger favor and don't wait too long to get this job done if you notice your ignition wobbling or you might be in a dilemma.
