These are LOVELY lights. They look completely different when lit than in photos but unfortunately they are difficult to capture in a photograph so you have to believe me. They have an absolutely gorgeous warm vintage look. However, within 10 minutes of them arriving at my house, one light broke and two went out, and I was actually pretty gentle with them. After one of the bulbs broke, you realize how fragile these headlights are. The glass is thin *paper*, thinner than an eggshell and certainly not as strong. I assume that once they are in your tree it will be very easy to damage them further, which becomes a safety issue. If a child knocks on it or a piece of jewelry falls and there are tiny pieces of glass everywhere, it will be a nightmare to clean. Who wants to deal with this? I want so badly to give these lights 5 stars because they are the coolest Christmas lights I've ever seen, but they're just not very well made, at least not the set I got :(
