Review on 💄 Jane Iredale Pure & Simple Makeup Kit: Complete Look with Mineral Foundation, Blush, Eye Shadow, and Lip & Cheek Stain by Brittany Moore

Trying JI products for the first time. This is a great way to try 2 complementary foundations, a matching blush, 2 eye shadows and a lip gloss. Watch/read how to apply this powder foundation, it doesn't apply like other powder foundations unless you load the brush and apply in a buffing motion. JI Powder Foundation is picked up with a brush and applied in downward strokes (no buffing). Pros: It goes on very smooth but looks like powder for about 5 minutes. It then cures to a very nice smooth cashmere look. I only use foundation primer and no setting spray (yet lol). So a setting spray and a good moisturizer will likely go a long way. But even without it, it looks very velvety after a few minutes. The eyeshadows are very pigmented, run a bit and are easy to apply if you want to make them even darker. Concerned that A) I don't like pink and B) my complexion doesn't like pink (olive shade). I really would have preferred the peach they gave in the liter shadow sets. I applied it for the first time and it actually changes shades turning into a beautiful plum color on me. It reminds me of an IT Cosmetics lipstick that stays clear and then changes shades based on body chemistry. Although it's "pink", don't worry, it's actually a really pretty shade and not pink at all once applied (at least for me). Cons: Actually, I only have 2 complaints. First, the brush applicators that come with the kit are completely useless, don't even try to use them. It would be nice for almost $40 if they gave you actual test/travel brushes of their regular brushes so we could try those out too, or even a flocked foundation sponge and just keep the eyeshadow applicators all together. Seriously, just throw them away when you open the box and use your own brushes. My second complaint is about the box itself. While it's nice to display the products in this box, it really makes trying to use the products a nightmare because you have to be very meticulous and perfect when loading the brushes ( Powders go everywhere and get into all other products, so I have foundation in my eyeshadow bowl, cream and eyeshadow in bowls for the foundation, and blush everywhere in everything), or I carry them everywhere with me while I'm in a HEAVY box 5x5x2 hard sharp corners bin. It would be much better if the food containers were detachable so that they can be put in a makeup bag for travel/work/on-the-go. You could even design/include a small square jar JI the size of a jar of Altoids (probably less than $1) to place products after opening the presentation box to give you a chance to use them first They are fixed in the box. It's inconvenient and takes up too much room in your purse to carry this box anywhere other than your bathroom vanity. I want to buy another JI Simple Makeup Kit just for travel, perfect size products to take with you on weekends or vacations. But NOT in this hard box. JI if you are listening/reading please provide an option to either take the products out of the box to put in our own travel bags or a beautiful 3x4x1 jar (about the size of a lollipop jar) to create take away products with us :) Oh and one last thought, I wish they would sell test/travel brushes of their handi brushes and eyeshadow brushes. I'd love to try the handi brush but I don't want to spend $40 on a brush, I don't know if I like it. The smaller $10 version would be great to use as a street brush. Then if customers like it, they can order $40 full size brushes for home use :)
