Watts Premier Reverse Osmosis System - RO Pure Button Replacement Filter Kit

Easy to replace. While Watts wants you to swap out the set of filters every few months (most of their reverse osmosis systems include a flow meter that turns from green to red when you need to "replace" the filters), this part of their marketing is a scam. . Reverse osmosis filter kits only need to be replaced when the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) rises sharply, indicating seal or filter failure. TDS should be tested every few months and the green to red indicator is a great reminder to test. Removing the battery from the flow meter for a few seconds and reinserting it will reset the flow meter. I have had a Watts system for seven years and it was only recently that the TDS gave me the information I needed to know it was time to change the filters. It's a good job if you can get it when your customers faithfully replace an $80-$100 set of filters every 4-6 months when they see the light change from green to red. However, I think it's much more cost-effective to buy a $50-$100 digital TDS meter and use it regularly (it only takes a few seconds to test) and potentially save $1700 on replacement filters. Please note that I have been building and maintaining retail reverse osmosis systems from scratch for 40 years. Watts makes a good and inexpensive system. But I think they rely on selling filters internally as a razor/blade replacement business model.
