UPDATE: I bought two of these in December 2019. I only used one of these, but I used it almost every day. Well it seems to have been turned off recently (as of August 2020) and I've been using a different one since then. The period in which mechanical assistance would have been provided (6 months) has expired. So I'd say if you're transitioning to a "simpler life" and want to use them regularly, check out the more advanced options. I will do it now, before the other dies from me! ORIGINAL POST BELOW: I actually got two of these to replace my stove because (a) I don't cook much or fancy and (b) the oven feels so big and takes up so much space. With them I can really hang them on hooks so they don't get in the way until I'm ready to use them. I put the extension cord on top of the cabinet where I hung them so I could easily turn the power on and off, remove the burner and cook. Wipe it clean and put it back when I'm done. Perfect for my needs. Pros: - It heats food SUPER fast - Easy temperature control - Short learning curve - It's attractive and portable - The handles are a huge plus for convenience and for my own purposes - I like the fan that comes on after cooking to cool it down to speed up the burner. Cons: I found the surface stained fairly quickly (no big deal, don't keep that super shiny clean black smooth surface for long, especially around the burner area).
