Bought as a birthday present for my 5 year old nephew. I thought it was something like a 90's yo-yo ball if you're familiar with that. No, that is not so. To bring it back you need to pull a little, but not as hard as you would on a regular yo-yo. After reading the reviews I was concerned that you would have to let it "sleep" before the clutch engages and the yoyo comes back, but as long as you have the line fully taut and pull up when it reaches its maximum stretch ( like a regular yo-yo ), then the clutch will work and help you get the yo-yo back in your hand. I actually bought a second yoyo to give away, Duncan's regular circle style, thinking it wouldn't work properly and my nephew is already trying to give it away as he likes it better. Newbie Yoyo is advertised so don't let negative reviews put you off. I'm considering buying a second one just to play with it.
