Like many of you, I was initially concerned about the compatibility and features of this version of the phone. At the time of writing this review, this phone has been out of stock at ASUS for several months. I decided to make this purchase and wanted to leave a review on this product in case anyone else is considering a purchase. I live in the US, Midwest. First, I was a previous Sprint user before they merged with T-Mobile. When I tried to activate the phone, I had to bring it to the store, and according to the staff there, even after the merger, the phone isn't working on Sprint's network. I had to convert my T-Mobile account to activate my phone online. After that it activated as expected, but the staff informed me that you would need a new SIM card for this phone whether you were with Sprint or T-Mobile first. The phone itself is incredibly fast, extremely responsive and overall a great buy. I will say that the phone does NOT have 5G connectivity on the T-Mobile network, only 4G. I have been informed that the specific band used on this phone is not the standard 5G that we have in my area. (Midwest US) I'm still getting about 60Mbps download and about 20Mbps download on 4G with full bands, which is fast enough for me. Another small detail is that the fingerprint reader is a bit complicated. It's not a read error or anything, but it wasn't as accurate or forgiving as my previous phone. Aside from that, every other aspect of this phone works amazingly. The battery is huge and charging is even faster with the included charger. Games run amazingly smooth, and the included software really goes a long way in monitoring hardware performance and boosting performance. I bought the phone primarily for light gaming and it's absolutely superior to anything I've ever owned. (Formerly from Razer Phone 2) I will say that while this phone comes with a plastic case, you definitely need a better case for this phone. It's big and will definitely break if dropped. In conclusion - this phone was definitely what I ordered, it works as advertised with the exception of 5G in my area. I read online that T-Mobile is considering releasing a firmware to fix this issue, but as far as I know there is no official information.
